# Quickstart Guide

This quickstart guide helps you start using LiveChat in a few simple steps.

LiveChat allows your team to receive customer conversations, assign chats to agents, reply through WhatsApp, use saved responses, and monitor conversations from one place.

### Before You Start

Make sure you have:

* A LiveChat account created by your admin
* Access to the LiveChat platform
* The correct role assigned to your user account, such as Agent or Supervisor

### Step 1: Log in to LiveChat

Open the LiveChat platform link provided by your admin.

Enter your username and password, then click **Login**.

After logging in, you will be redirected to the main LiveChat interface.

### Step 2: Understand the Main Chat Views

LiveChat conversations are organized into different views to help you manage chats easily.

#### My Chats

Shows conversations assigned to you.

Use this view to reply to customers and continue active conversations.

#### Queue

Shows conversations that are not assigned to any agent yet.

Agents or supervisors can open or assign conversations from the queue.

#### Department

Shows open conversations related to your department.

This view helps supervisors monitor department activity.

#### Chatbot

Shows conversations that are currently handled by the chatbot or not yet transferred to an agent.

### Step 3: Open a Conversation

Click on any conversation from the chat list to view the conversation details.

From the conversation window, you can:

* Read previous messages
* Reply to the customer
* Use fast responses
* Attach supported files
* Transfer or assign the chat
* Close or archive the conversation

### Step 4: Reply to the Customer

Type your message in the message box and click **Send**.

If the customer’s WhatsApp session is still open, you can send a normal message.

If the session is closed, you may need to send an approved template message instead.

### Step 5: Send a Template Message

Template messages are pre-approved WhatsApp messages used when the customer’s 24-hour session is closed or when you need to start a conversation with a customer.

To send a template message:

1. Open the customer conversation.
2. Click the **Send Template** option.
3. Select the suitable approved template.
4. Fill in any required variables, if the template includes placeholders.
5. Review the message before sending.
6. Click **Send**.

After the customer replies, the conversation session will be reopened, and you can continue replying with normal messages within the allowed session window.

### Step 6: Use Fast Responses

Fast responses help agents reply faster using saved message templates during active conversations.

To use a fast response:

1. Open a customer conversation.
2. Click the fast response option.
3. Select the suitable response.
4. Review the message.
5. Send it to the customer.

### Step 7: Close or Archive the Conversation

After the conversation is completed, close or archive the chat based on your company’s workflow.

Closing conversations helps keep the inbox organized and allows reports to reflect accurate activity.
